Eidotrope at OutDPS: The recent patch appears to have introduced a new pet summon bug. It will cause a pet to sometimes appear after a summon with no pet action bar and be unresponsive to commands.
The exact nature of the summon bug has yet to be determined to my knowledge. I am able to replicate it consistently by flying into an instance (I used The Stonecore). Simple Call Pets, dismounts, etc., do not reliably trigger the bug if at all. In other words, the bug is not a consistent problem (and possibly not a problem at all) for most kinds of pet summons. … Read Full Article.
You can get it to replicate 100% by dropping into Nef with your pet out. the action bar stays there, you pet will not attack or respond to any commands
I’ve seen the bug numerous times as well. Nothing to do with instances for me. Its been during BG’s and Wintergrasp after dismounting, or calling the pet. Yes, I said calling the pet. Dismissing and recalling doesnt always work. Sometimes I’m stuck with no control bar for my pet, although opening my spell book and macroing the commands to the task bars do work, but very annoying to do.
Now get this, sometimes only one pet is affected. I dismiss that one, call another and its fine. Go back to the first, and it has no controlls. Switch back to the second, and it does, back to first pet, nothing. This is a rare case, and only get corrected by logging.
This has happened to me, on Nef…I finally had to switch to Beast Master, and use a spirit beast. In MM spec, my pet would just sit by me, and do nothing, even when I /rl to get the pet bar to populate! Put a ticket in to Blizzard, and they had me delete the three files, run the repair, and then re-install all my addons. No effect–no help, although it seems to happen less, since then, so it may be an addon that was not updated…anyone still have this issue?
