Patch 5.2: Guide to Profession Changes

Perculia at the Wowhead Blog posted a summary of the changes coming to professions in Patch 5.2. I’ve narrowed the list to items of particular interest for hunters:

Archeology

• One of the two rare solves for the new Mantid race is a BoA gun: Sonic Pulse Generator.

Jewelcrafting

• Jewelcrafters will now be able to create uncut  Primal Diamonds (previously available only from alchemists’ transmutes). Design: Primal Diamond is a world drop.
• Jewlecrafters will be able to create a new item: Serpent’s Heart. Serpent’s Heart contains a rare-quality Pandaren uncut gem and also a very low chance at the two battle pet designs. Design: Serpent’s Heart is a world drop.

Leatherworking

• Pattern: Magnificence of Leather and  Pattern: Magnificence of Scales are new world drops in Patch 5.2 that allow Leatherworkers to create Magnificent Hide. Recipes for 5.2 raid epics and new Crafted PvP gear may be learned when making Magnificence of Leather or Magnificence of Scales. The crafted PvP sets look identical to the ilvl 458 Dreadful Gladiator’s gear that was purchasable with honor in 5.0.

  • Dreadrunner Helm
• New crafted Dreadful Gladiator gear
  • Crafted Dreadful Gladiator’s Chain Armor
  • Crafted Dreadful Gladiator’s Chain Helm

  • Crafted Dreadful Gladiator’s Chain Gauntlets
  • Crafted Dreadful Gladiator’s Chain Spaulders
• Leatherworkers will also be able to craft the 36-slot Magnificent Hide Pack.

Tailoring

• Crafted Dreadful Gladiator’s Cape of Cruelty
• Crafted Dreadful Gladiator’s Cape of Prowess
