World First Hunter Solo: CaribaLd vs Blood-Queen Lana’thel

CaribaLd: Previously thought to be impossible due to not being able to do enough damage before getting mind controlled, I found a video of a death knight soloing her by using Shadowmeld just as she was going to bite, which resulted in her biting the pet and leaving the Death Knight alone. I figured it would be the same for hunters using Feign Death, and sure enough, she bit my pet. It took me several attempts to get her down however, since her enrage is really tight. My average item level is 406.7, but I don’t have the heroic Madness of Deathwing bow – with it, it would have been easy, but without it was tough.

In order to squeeze out the last dps needed I changed my hunter’s and pet’s specs. I don’t know how much dps I gained from doing this, as I had to sacrifice survivability on the pet, so I in turn had to use more Mend Pet. The specs used are as follows:

I tried going as Survival for the higher dps, but I died too quickly. She has an aura that pulses every 2 seconds, so in theory you could get one bandage tick per minute, but even that didn’t seem enough. I realized afterwards, however, that I could have used a prismatic elixir to resist more of her spells, so maybe it’s possible to do as Survival as well.

This kill means the list of pre-cata bosses that are (at least thought to be) impossible has now shrunk to 5 instead of 6:
