Maloriak proved to be the most interesting of the bunch. And much like the Omnotrons, it’s a great chance to highlight the amazing hunter toolbox of abilities.
- Pets can tank him, but not easily. My pet had him first, and I was rolling my HoT constantly and cycling cooldowns, but he still went down about midway through. Luckily we had a backup pet on him that lasted until the final burn phase.
- During blue phases, nothing changes from a regular raid – spread out and break ice blocks.
- During red phase, we realized that the pet tank could eat the AoE cone fire attack easily, so we didn’t stack like you would in a normal raid. Our goal was simply to not be in front of him for this phase, and you’ll see the pet positioned in such a way that Maloriak wasn’t facing the raid. When he was facing us (on other attempts) we were able to block the attack with Deterrence in a pinch.
- We had specific MM hunters assigned to interrupting his lightning attack, and we were ALL tasked with Tranq-shotting his healing spell (Renew).
