Hunter Solo: Narrated Video Guides to Vault of Archavon (VoA) for the Grand Black War Mammoth Mount
Steevnash has produced another set of narrated hunter soloing video guides, this time for how to solo VoA (Wintergrasp) for a 1% chance at the Grand Black War Mammoth (for Alliance) or Grand Black War Mammoth (for Horde). Even a beginning solo hunter could easily down Archavon or Koralon in about 3 minutes time after watching these guides. Emalon is slightly more challenging but still a fairly simple 3 minute fight. The Toravon encounter takes about 7 minutes and is more complex than the first three bosses; beginning soloers might prefer to skip Toravon. In addition to a 1% chance for the rare mount, these bosses drop about 180 gold each plus vendor/transmog gear and grant Honor when killed.
Hunter Solo Guide to Archavon the Stone Watcher
Steevnash: “Kill on Archavon from the Vault of Archavon, who has a 1% chance of dropping the Reins of the Grand Black War Mammoth. A fast kill nets you around 200g after vendoring the drops. Very simple fight.”
Hunter Solo Guide to Koralon the Flame Watcher
Steevnash: Kill on Koralon from the Vault of Archavon, who has a 1% chance of dropping the Reins of the Grand Black War Mammoth. A fast kill that nets you around 200g after vendoring the drops. Very simple fight.
Hunter Solo Guide to Emalon the Storm Watcher
Steevnash: Kill on Emalon from the Vault of Archavon, who has a 1% chance of dropping the Reins of the Grand Black War Mammoth. A fast kill that nets you around 200g after vendoring the drops. Very simple fight.
Hunter Solo Guide to Toravon the Ice Watcher
Steevnash: Kill on Toravon from the Vault of Archavon, who has a 1% chance of dropping the Reins of the Grand Black War Mammoth. Important Note: When I say “Dismiss Pet” early in the video, and every time subsequently, what I mean is to force a Dismiss by running 100 yards away from your pet. Do not cast “Dismiss Pet”. Simply run away from the boss, make sure a Mend Pet is going when you start to run, and your pet will despawn on his own. Resummon your pet as soon as he despawns and roll Mend Pet again.

Those are good videos.
Thanks for organising them into the article.
Aye, hunters have been asking for narrated video guides for soloing the mount bosses and I think Steevnash is doing a great job with them.
Good guides and this time the sound is also of good volume! :-)
Good Videos, are you using the T5 2-set bonus?
Or is it not needed?
nah I’ve never used the T5 bonus before. As far as I understand it, and this is purely speculation I’ve never attempted this, the only time T5 is still useful is if you’re having trouble on Chromagus from Blackwing Lair. If you get MC’d and begin DPS’ing your pet the healing you do from damage will far out weigh the harm you’re doing to him… and I guess your pet just solo’s the rest of the ecounter? I’m not sure, like I said I’ve never tried it, could be pretty funny to see though.
