Steevnash: About a year ago Kripparrian posted a great video on solo’ing Kael’thas for a chance at Ashes of Al’ar. It’s an amazing video, as his always are, but there are a few particular mechanics of the encounter that it seems like people are still struggling with. In particular, putting yourself in a good position to down all the adds in phases 2 and 3 in a timely manner as well as handling the placement of your pet during phase 4 when he’s tanking Kael’thas on the opposite side of the pillar.
For that reason I created a bit of a longer video detailing a few things someone can do to make the encounter easier as a whole.

Great videos, but the sound is too low.
Note, with some external speakers with the own amplifiers I can do OK, but sound itself is recorded too low. You are only using a very small part of the available volume-range.
On my laptop – without external amplifiers – I had a very hard time hearing you even with local and youtube sound maxed out.
Just a minor point though.
Great video! I was wondering if you have tried this post-5.04 patch? I was able to do it the 3rd time I tried but now seem unable. I used the DK strat of moving the mini bosses and can always get to phase 4 after the MC sequence. Then I get nuked. Pet dies (even if he is on passive) and out of the range of the health debuff. Then I get nuked b/c I cannot use the staff and dps at the same time. I was wondering if you have any suggestions? Especially now that the tank pet health is much lower. Thanks for all your help.
Also, have you tried to do Sunwell? With no intervene and lower health pools I cannot get past Brutalis.
This can so be done post-5.04 but the only change is no staff or weapon pick up. I did it last night with a DPS pet out and just a lot of keeping distance. The mini-boss just need to be burned and the weapons as well. After they are all down just place pet like the video (tanking pet at this point) and just follow the rest of the video. Yes, this is harder now because we don’t have a stat stick on our backs and only our ranged weapon BUT it is still doable. No mount but now that it is weekly reset I am back there tonight:
